Project Objectives:
Objective: Improve dissolved oxygen levels, control doors, prevent fish kills, control blue-green algae blooms, and improve overall water quality.
Project Results:
Spoke with the operator as of September 2008. He said that the unit was running really well. They had missed the hurricane this time, just some heavy rain and wind. They are pleased with the results of the SolarBee and have requested a second SolarBee unit in the near future and are awaiting budget approval. Considering the size of the lake a second SolarBee installation would be greatly beneficial. Algae blooms to this point have been greatly reduced, but community still experiences an occasional bloom.
